Credits and grading
European Credit Transfer System
Collegium Civitas adheres to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). We accept credits earned at participating universities while other ECTS institutions honor credits earned at our school. Credits earned at higher education institutions that do not participate in the ECTS program will be evaluated on case-by-case basis. Official transcripts should be sent directly to us by the school where the courses were taken. Transcripts delivered by candidates, whether in person or by mail, will not be considered.
Rules for obtaining ECTS credits
To obtain ECTS credits for a given course, each student must earn at least a grade of “passing” (3.0 in Collegium Civitas). Depending on the required workload, courses at Collegium give 3 to 6 ECTS credits per semester, language classes give 2 credits.

In Poland students not always receive grades/marks for courses which do not require exams. In such cases they receive credits without the grade (in Polish zaliczenie); only their attendance and activeness during the course are assessed.
Student’s progress evaluation
Students are evaluated on the basis of:
- written or oral exams
- final papers
- oral presentations
- empirical projects
- theses
- practical work or other specific tasks
Exams are the main form of evaluating student’s progress. The majority of exams are carried out in the form of a written test. Collegium Civitas' professors provide students with relevant assessment criteria at the beginning of each course.
