Collegium Civitas is now accepting applications from North American undergraduate and graduate students for 2010 summer internships in Warsaw.  This is our third edition of this selective, challenging, and fun summer program, and we are proud that every year, both the offer, and interest thereof, increases.  Our offer is about partnership and open communication, constant feedback and flexibility, and our model is that of close co-operation with both the participating companies, and the international students.  As an academic institution dedicated to the intellectual and professional growth of young people like you, we have developed close relationships with a wide array of enthusiastic, dynamic, English-friendly institutions, foundations, and private and public companies based in the capital of Poland.

Placement

Our placement process is intensely focused on matching your skills, expectations, and interests with outstanding opportunities in the field of your choice.   The sooner we get your application, the wider the choice of internship partners.  We select companies that offer what you are looking for.  We present your candidacy and, when there is synergy, we ask them for a detailed description of their internship’s assignments.  We want you to be presented with a choice, and once you decide on a company or two, we arrange for a phone interview and contact with your internship mentor.  We guarantee our support throughout the placement process and our goal is to ensure that you are happy and satisfied, with both the organization and your assignment. 


 Language 

You don’t need to speak Polish to enjoy your time in Warsaw.   English is widely spoken here, and people will be thrilled to practice it with you.  Collegium offers you an optional course in the Polish language, should you choose to give it a shot.   
 

We Care

Collegium is a small, private university, dedicated to the wellbeing and continuous support of our students.   By joining us, you become a member of our community for the length of your stay.  From the moment you express interest in our program ‘till your departure from Warsaw, we are here to provide support, counsel and company.  You will first experience our high quality service during the application and placement processes.  We monitor your internship, communicate with your mentor, and evaluate the internship at the end.  We organize academic courses suitable for the whole group, enhancing your academic experience here, and we offer courses for them.  But our care does not end there: we help you arrange for accommodation in Warsaw, take you on cultural and field trips, and social events.  We’ll even pick you up from the airport, and see you off when you leave.  You’ll also receive a mobile phone for the length of your stay, a public transportation pass, medical insurance, and lots of personal attention.   


 Warsaw in the Summer

Expect great cultural, social, and business vitality and dynamism, anything goes attitude, world-class cultural events, great nightlife, and open-minded people, and you will enjoy Warsaw.  It is comfortable to live in, at significantly lower cost than any other major European capital, and your savings will go far at Warsaw restaurants, cinemas, bars and shops.  The city has a radically different look than it did 20, 10, or even 5 years ago, and it may surprise you with its elegance, style, and prosperity.  You will love its cafes and outdoor restaurants, pedestrian areas with plenty of small businesses, boutiques, art galleries and ice-cream stands, parks with great bike and jogging paths, and late evening concerts.  The cultural and musical scene in Warsaw gets better every year, and major stars visit the city all the time, from rock to pop, jazz, and opera.  The summer is packed with festivals, shows, street fairs, and other activities that turn it into a fun, vibrant place.  There's something for everyone in this city, with a plethora of indoor and outdoor activities that free, or at moderate cost.  With its central location in Europe, Warsaw has very convenient international travel connections to Western Europe, Scandinavia, and Southern Europe as well as the Baltic States, Russia and Ukraine.
