20080126_inauguracja_na_koncertowej.jpg Within Studies in English at Collegium Civitas, potential students may apply, in the 2010/2011 academic year, for a place on one of four degree programs:
  • 3-year BA in International Relations
  • 3-year BA in Political Science
  • 2-year MA in International Relations
  • 2-year MA in Political Science

(PhD Candidates are invited to look at the admissions requirements here. One Semester Abroad Students may find instructions here.)

Prospective students are admitted twice a year: during the summer and winter admissions periods.

The 2-year MA in International Relations and the 2-year MA in Political Science are open only to those who have already attained a BA degree. Collegium Civitas strives to satisfy all international standards of higher education. In particular, it complies with the Bologna directives which, among others, permit the enrolment on the 2-year MA programs in International Relations or Political Science of students who have not previously studied either of these disciplines. Thus, someone who has previously studied the Chinese language, for instance, may be accepted as a student of the programs in question and may receive an MA degree in International Relations or Political Science in two years, providing that she/he passes the admissions process and collects a sufficient number of credit points during the two-year period of study.

In order to become a student of one of the BA programs, one has to send us his or her high school diploma, a proof of proficiency in English and some other documents specified below. All applications are considered during the admissions procedure and each applicant is personally informed of the decision reached by the Committee.

The selection of candidates to all programs is carried out on the basis of transparent and fair criteria. The first criterion is an applicant's preceding performance in school or, if the applicant applies to the 2-year MA Program in International Relations or in Political Science, at college (university). The second criterion is a command of the English language. Candidates are required to present evidence of their proficiency in English. Please note that even applicants from countries where English is well-known, such as Nigeria or India, must provide proof of their knowledge of spoken and, in particular, written English, since the writing of academic papers is a major course requirement at Collegium Civitas.

Occasionally, the Admissions Committee finds it difficult to make a definite decision. On such occasions and when feasible, a particular candidate is invited for a tele-interview.

There are two student intakes each year. For the fall semester of the 2010/2011 academic year the admissions process lasts until July 30, 2010 for prospective students from all countries except the EU countries, the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Island, Norway, Switzerland, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Ukraine, the Russian Federation, Moldova, and Turkey. The nationals of the above mentioned countries can lodge their applications until September 10, 2010 (providing that they have obtained apostilles of their diplomas and certificates stating that they are entitled to study at a university/college in their home countries).

Prospective students wishing to commence their studies in the spring semester of the 2010/2011 academic year should send us their application packages not later than December 17, 2009 for candidates from all countries except the EU countries, the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Island, Norway, Switzerland, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Ukraine, the Russian Federation, Moldova, and Turkey. The nationals of the above mentioned countries are welcome to send us their applications until January 28, 2011 (providing that they have obtained apostilles of their diplomas and certificates stating that they are entitled to study at a university/college in their home countries).

Applicants are selected on the basis of their school performance (for BA programs) or college grades (for MA programs), and of their command of English. The required paperwork and where to send it can be found at www.civitas.edu.pl You will also find there detailed information on financial arrangements and visa requirements.

Transfer students and One Semester Abroad students may apply until September 10, 2010 (to start their studies in the fall semester of the 2010/2011 academic year) and until January 28, 2011 (to start their studies from the spring semester of the 2010/2011 academic year). The transfer students and One Semester Abroad students wishing to further their education at Collegium Civitas should contact Dr Serge Pukas, Supervisor of Studies in English, at serge.pukas@collegium.edu.pl

If you have any questions, please write to admissions@collegium.edu.pl or call (+48) (22) 656 71 89.

At Collegium Civitas we care about the quality of our studies, about class sizes, professor-student contacts, management of student affairs and internship programs. This results in the policy of admitting not more than 30 students per program of study. Therefore, the candidates are well advised to apply early.

ESSENTIAL STEPS OF THE ADMISSIONS PROCEDURE

If you are genuinely interested in International Relations or Political Science and you are convinced that you are a well-qualified candidate, to become a student of Collegium Civitas is easy despite the formidable look of the formal requirements below.

In the nutshell, if you are a Pole, just send us your application and a few additional documents specified below.

If you are an international candidate, then there are two really important elements of the admissions package that you have to get before becoming a student at our university: a proof of English proficiency and a legalization of your diploma (or an apostille together with a certificate stating that you are entitled to study at a university/college).

The legalization or the apostille  together with the certificate are necessary to have your diploma nostrified (recognized) in Poland or to have it exempt from nostrification (in the case of Higher Education Diplomas).

Hence, it is not that complicated; certainly not for a future graduate of Collegium Civitas, a renowned university at whose premises bright students can learn from leading scholars and practitioners and can embark upon a successful career after graduation.

We will teach you what is profound in life and you will convert it into what is valuable to you.
