TRANSATLANTIC MA PROGRAM IN EAST-CENTRAL EUROPEAN STUDIES
Collegium Civitas, West Virginia University (Morgantown, US), and the University of Tartu (Estonia) established a unique transatlantic multidisciplinary MA dual degree program in East-Central European area studies.
During the period of four years, 48 American and European students will graduate from this program. Students from both sides of the Atlantic will spend two academic semesters overseas and will complete relevant coursework at all three institutions with the goal of completing dual MA degrees in the course of two years. They will receive a stipend to cover their living expenses while they are studying abroad.
Faculty mobility will enable site visits, research collaboration, the offering of intensive courses hosted by partner institutions, and joint participation on student thesis committees. For the purposes of program implementation and evaluation, eight consortium meetings (including the four annual meetings) are planned over the four-year period.
For the period of 2009-2012 selected students of Collegium Civitas will be able to earn an MA degree in History from West Virginia University (US) and an MA degree in International Relations (Collegium Civitas) during two years of their Master’s studies. A stipend amounting to 12 000 EUR will be given to each student to cover their expenses related to spending two semesters at West Virginia University. This is a splendid opportunity for young ambitious people who do not shy away from challenges and wish to start their career on an intense note!
