Other practical information

First steps after arrival at Collegium Civitas

After your arrival please contact as soon as possible at the Office for International Cooperation. You should also take part in the Orientation Day, which takes place at the beginning of each semester.

After your arrival you will get a login and a password to the Student Online Services. All further information concerning your study and other practical information you will find there.

Collegium Civitas offers courses of Polish as a foreign language to all incoming foreign students. You do not have to take it but it really makes sense. For further information please contact the OIC.

Student Identity Card

The Student ID (pol. legitymacja studencka) is the most important document. If you want to use libraries, reading rooms and to get discounts (like the 50% reduced urban transportation tickets) or 37% cheaper train tickets, you will need to produce the student ID card. Also cinemas, theatres, museums national bus lines and certain clubs offer discounts for students.

To get the student ID you need to be officially enrolled as a Collegium Civitas student and come to the OIC with two photos. At the beginning of each semester you need to stamp the ID to confirm your enrolment and keep the card valid.

How to Enrol on Specific Courses

After your arrival to Warsaw please visit the Office for International Cooperation and fill in the Enrolment Card for English courses. You need to fill in the titles of the chosen courses (see the Catalogue of Courses 365.03 KB), the lecturer’s name, the number of ECTS points for each course and your student ID number (available at OIC). Only then should you get the signature of the Erasmus Institutional Coordinator and submit the Card to the Office for International Cooperation.

You are entitled to attend your first classes and – in case you find them inadequate – you have the possibility of signing off. If for any reason you decide to resign from a course, or if you want to sign up for an extra course, you should fill in a Modification Card to enroll on a different (or additional) course. However, remember that you are allowed to submit the Modification Card only once, and only within a strictly defined period of time. Remember to make sure that you’ve been registered for the chosen courses.

If you have any questions about coming as an exchange student to Collegium Civitas, feel free to write to the Office for International Cooperation, or to students like you – members of the Erasmus Student Network, who also will be glad to help you.
